Can't really compare it to a lot of other cars, but for what it's worth, my 2000 GF wagon with the self-leveling shocks has always ridden really well under heavy load (stable in turns, during fast lange changes, etc.). Not 1000 lbs in the trunk heavy, like the 25 40-lb bags of mulch I used to put in my classic 900 from time to time, but 5 people and luggage/stuff for a week's vacation heavy, for 4-8 hours of highway and rural driving. HOWEVER, I can't believe the OEM self-leveling shock is worth the extra cost vs. the other good shocks recommended on this board, unless you're planning on rally driving with a load of construction material shifting around in the back. If I ever have to replace them on my own dime (did it as an insurance repair once), I'll look seriously at switching the springs to go with some other shock.
