Congrats on your purchase, and I hope you enjoy the A6. It is a really nice car. I drove a few before settling on the 9-5, but it was a tough choice. I am a big fan of VW/Audi, having owned a few over the years and worked at a VW dealer. Yes, there are repair issues, but it can't be worse than what you've already experienced. You won't have to worry about sludge, though it seems to be a non-issue with the newer 9-5s. The Quattro system is really nice; I used to have an '85 4000 that I drove in the winter. It handled better than my wife's Volvo XC70! I think you will find, however, that parts are much more expensive for the A6 than the Saab. And, don't be surprised if the front axles end up becoming a wear item. Of course, ultimately, it's hard to compare the two cars, as the A6 in my mind is a bigger, more expensive sedan. Plus, the Scandinavian and Teutonic design philosophies are quite different. Enjoy the change! maybe you'll want another in a few more years when the 9-5's replacement has finally appeared and established itself.
