Saab customer service says no, no and no again. According to the saab rep on the phone they are not covered. It is a normal wear item like brakes and tires. Personally I would disagree. I also do not see it listed anywhere as not covered. Also declined by the saab rep at the 800 number was the paint cracks in the seam behind the rear windows. He said that it was due to environmental causes and that it is not unusual for a car of this age to have this defect. I of course respectfully disagreed and told him that the same defect was repaired by saab on my 1999 9-5. I also asked about my lug bolts which are rusted and he said that since they were covered by an earlier recall they would not be replaced. I have no record of this in my iris report I got from the dealer last week.
