No dice cancelling battery check on Theft Alarm... Posted by MI-Roger [Email] (#882) [Profile/Gallery] (more from MI-Roger) on Thu, 24 Apr 2008 12:17:25 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I had an appointment at Trio Motors this afternoon to have my theft alarm settings changed so that I would no longer receive battery error messages, but still have siren chirps when locking/unlocking. There is something strange about an external battery pack that causes problems for all of us who have installed one.
Not available!
The Tech whom Allan reported did this for him was not working today, he was taking a couple days of vacation after being in Training earlier in the week. But this is a very small Saab Only Dealership, possibly only two Techs on the payroll, so it is hard to believe they would not share this secret.
I have to assume Allan has an "unintended feature" in his TWICE unit which causes it to send the audio alert signal to the siren rather than the horn, even after being programmed that the siren has been removed.
You may recall seeing photos of the SID in a 9-5 which was purchased used somewhere in Massachusetts. This SID could display ECU parameters such as Oxygen sensor readings, boost pressure, etc. The factory said it could not be done, but it was happening. Allan's lucky results must be something similar.
Oh well, hearing quick little beeps of the horn is not too bad. At least I have A/C now for the summer!
