Saab does recommend changing the automatic transmission fluid at the time of the 60K mile service. This applies to both 2006 and 2007 model years per the WIS (Workshop Information System).
Use the Owners Manual as a checklist regarding what should be done at various service intervals as a STARTING POINT regarding which service procedures to perform.
Some service procedures should be performed more frequently based upon the type of driving you're doing. 5K engine oil and filter changes is one example. Replacement of the serpentine belt and all pulleys at 60K mile intervals is another must do. IMHO replacement of the battery at the 4 year point is a must; life after 4 years is the exception, getting stranded because you decided to wait for an indication after 4 years is not unusual.
Note that those of us who post on this BB do so because we have a problem we're trying to solve, or because we solved it and want to share the solution with others.
I put 280K miles on my first 9-5 (a 2000), and now have 12K miles on the second, a 2007 9-5. This all started in 1967 with a brand new Model 96, 3 cylinder, and now 40 years of Saab's later (96's, 99's, 900's and 9000's) I'm still here.
