My #$&@ing V6 is blowing Blue Smoke at Startup AGAIN Posted by B Millar [Email] (#1109) [Profile/Gallery] (more from B Millar) on Fri, 23 May 2008 05:49:20 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Almost exactly 7 months and 6100 miles after spending an exuberant amount of cash having my turbo rebuilt it's puffing smoke almost every time I start it. I include the time and mileage because the rebuild came with a 6 month 6k mile warranty. Now, I know it's entirely possible that it's the turbo failing again because the world has been out to get me for the past 4 months or so. But, is there any chance this could be a PCV problem? I know that's generally a 4-cyl problem, but I have other reason to believe it could be. I've got oil seemingly oozing out the oil fill cap. I've got the plastic engine cover on right now and haven't looked lately, but the think film of oil has made it down the side of the front cylinder bank as well as down the front and onto the turbo heat shield. Sort of leads me to believe there's something up with the crankcase pressure. I'll take a picture later maybe. Any suggestions?
