I agree -
I timed my 95 9000 w/ the same 3.0 V6 (just doesn't have the turbo, but does put out 210 HP and 200 lb/ft on 11:1 compression!)
anyway, I spent a whole day playing with the 2 tensioners and idlers -
the middle roller is purely for idling tension, but the 2 upper rollers sit below each head and have eccentric (egg shaped) washers that allow you to adjust the belt tighter or looser - the front head in respect to the crankshaft and then the rear head in respect to the front head (since it runs counterclockwise) - so if you adjust the front head tension to change the timing, the rear head is then by default affected and you have to reset it also -
needless to say on top of this the belt does stretch, and a new belt lines up differently! So it may be running early on the timing on the front bank, and then the maybe late on the rear or vise versa - mine was late on the front head just slightly and early on the rear bank by the time I was satisfied with the positioning - the engine DID rock and vibrate more, but at 5000 rpm it sounded BETTER also :) really ripped it up from 4k-6k like it had a turbo! Of course I did all of this with no tools, and you are supposed to check the belt tension in a specified range etc - I did it by judgement, and took the cover off 5k later and found it was perfectly lined up according to the marks.
Have anders look at it - anything obviously amiss that would cause a problem would be evident quickly - the mounts do go also though and removing and replacing them sometimes causes the rubber to shift and start to vibrate... Mine still needs a new mount but I'm too cheap and the V6 too smooth for me to care...
