v6 water pump

This weekend I replaced the water pump on my 02 Arc. After looking at the old one, I'm pretty sure it was the gasket, not the pump that was leaking. The gasket was very hard and coated with coolant residue on both sides and there was no sign of leakage from the weep hole.
Instead of ordering the pump from Saab, I ordered GM #55352002 for the Catera. I knew it would fit, but I was somewhat surprised that it was the exact same pump that I took off, right down to the stampings. I paid around $40 for it from an online GM site. I'm assuming the current Saab pump is the same, but I can't say for sure. I think the design was changed in 2000, so to use this pump on the earlier V6s you have to use different pulley bolts. The after market pumps I looked at (Hepu and Graf) were all the earlier design. If I'm wrong, somebody please correct me. A few photos are posted at the link below.
Of slight concern is that the front of one of the timing belt pulleys was coated with a greasy residue. Not sure if it's from the bearing or not, but the others were clean. Take a look at the pics and let me know if this is a sign of pending bearing failure.
