My old SPG with over 300k miles has always been reliable, with only regular maintenance, like brakes, exhaust, etc.. My 2003 Linear Wagon gets over 30mpg regularly, and up to 35mpg lately on high-way. Of course, I can't tell about maintenance costs, since I only own it for a few weeks.. but already have put over 4k miles on it.

A colleague at office has a BMW wagon, strait six, and he admits that his BMW always have some problems, month after month. No big issues, but sensors, and enough nicks to get repairs costs that are quite high, compared to my old SPG wreck. But of course, the ride is superb, when not in garage.
