After all this time, nearly 1-1/5 years, I found the can. It has been 2 years since I coated the badges on my car and they are just fine. I don't know how long they would last without the coat, but I wasn't willing to take a chance with what Saab parts (even little ones) cost. I just finished buying a new set of chrome frames for the license plate frames and the license plate bracket which I'm replacing (call me picky, but I try to take care of my stuff). The license plate frames corrode terribly during the winter months. At $15/frame, I don't like this. They quickly turn from making your car look like new to making it look like crap.
Anyway, I'll get to the point. The name of the clear coat I used is Krylon Acrylic Crystal ?Clear (No Runs, No Drips, No Errors!) Dries in 12 Minutes or Less, Protective, Non-Yellowing Finish. UPC Code # is 7-24504-01301-3. Keep in mind that bar codes can change, but the description should get you the right stuff or darn close to it. Again, I'm pretty certain I picked this up at Walmart. And this is a good time to pick this up and clear coat what you can so you can forget about it during the winter and just drive while shining at the same time throughout the cold season, if you have a cold season where you live. Might be could for living near the shore, too.
Good luck!
