If I were you, hands down I would be looking for a 2004 or 2004 9-5 Aero or Arc. They are extremely reliable, and in my opinion the best looking cars on the road. The 9-3 has had tons of quality complaints. Most of the interior is hard plastic covered with a thin layer of rubbery stuff that peels off after a few years. Lots of rattles and groans too. It is a fun car to drive and pretty zippy, but coming from a 9000 I would go for a 9-5 for sure. By 2004 they came from the factory with the latest PCV update, so no more sludge, unless you never change the oil, and the DI cassettes aren't troubles spots. And the best part is you can get one for under $15k. There are a few around where I live for $14ish with 40k miles or less. Good luck!
