Hi all,
Just drove up to Grand Isle St Park in VT from Maryland towing my 19' sailboat. About an hour from Burlington I found I couldn't shift into 5th. (manual transmission) Just got to the park and now I can only put the shifter into 3rd or 4th. Can't get it into reverse to get the key out. I'd love to think it's a simple spring in the gearchange lever or something preventing me from moving the stick around. But I just can't sit outside the park office here tinkering my precious vacation hours away. I did bring my tools and haynes manual but this problem seems beyond the scope of my usual abilities!
SO - any Vermonters on the board have any strong recommendations about where to have it towed? I know there are many places on the mechanics list but I'm hoping for some help to sort out all the options.
Of course if anyone has any ideas about a simple fix I'd love to hear it.
TIA everyone...
Mike Keller
