Maybe could be... I suppose I should swap the rebuilt module into the car now and see if it faults. However, the Tech II scan did not identify the rebuilt module as faulty. It pulled the specific code for Left Rear solenoid valve failure. The technician further went thru the diagnostic procedure to cycle the valves and got the same failure. I definitely asked him if a faulty rebuild would cause this and he said the module would have been identified if this was the case. Everyone is commenting that they've never seen this kind of failure, but there it was. I don't know all the specifics of the Bosch system, but the principle of a solenoid relies on electromagnetism to produce motion of another physical object. If the module was rebuilt incorrectly and affected power to the electromagnet, then the module would show a fault. It appears all the electromagnet donuts are part of the module. If the actual internal hydraulic valve is stuck and can't react to the electromagnetism, then this would be identified by the DTC (diagnostic trouble code) described above.

Anyway, I'm glad it appears to be fixed and I welcome any further discussion on how exactly the system works. I do have the WIS, which does a pretty good job of describing most of the ABS operational details.
