misfire codes and studdering during idle and accel

So I have a 2001 9-5 aero atx. I've changed my plugs hoping to fix this (with OE) didn't fix it. I have a severe surge/studder/almost shifting like at idle sometimes but not all the time. This throws a check engine light that tells me two misfire codes. after a while of driving the CEL will go back off but show up next time I start the car but only after driving and the studder happens. I seem to lose power sometimes under light accel or coasting but not enough to effect more than a quick guess that I've had a misfire. I thought maybe the D.I. but it's been doing this now for over multiple months seems somewhat effected by humidity (to the worse) but not always some nice days it still does it bad... other days nothing. I will say when changing the plugs I noticed the bottom of the D.I. has a crack on the bottom side in the plastic.
maybe issues with the coil? but i'm not spending 250+ to find out i'm wrong and have an extra D.I....
another bit of info.. if i use sport mode usually i get a check engine light after.. but not always seems maybe a misfire issue.
