And as usual, they're sending her off with some special equipment and close-out pricing. You can go to http://media.gm.com and get the official details. At the convention, we heard that all '09s in the USA will be called "Griffen Edition", they will feature "piano black" (high gloss) dash and interior trim, and perforated center panel leather seating (like the vented seats, but not vented). Cynics have suggested they must have a lot of left over perforated leather. The look will be topped (or bottomed) off with unique wheels, and the chrome headlight trim will be softened to a matte chrome finish - case in point for getting the car in Silver. Color wise, they're taking out Parchment and maybe something else, adding in two more shades of grey, and reprising Nocturne (looks like black) Blue Metallic.
Also at the convention there was a slide showing a composite of shots from the 2010 9-4 and 9-5 products. Looks like the next 9-5 will knock your socks off (and from what I hear, the price will even if the looks don't). The 9-5 program plan was, I believe, based around a 2005 or 2006 all new model, and so the product was allowed to wither after the 2002 freshening. Well the new design didn't happen until 2010, leaving the car mired in antiquity. If reeingineered for the new motors, starting maybe in 2004 (a year after the 9-SS launch) for the Global 4 and 2005 for the global V-6, I think the car might have been more competitive for the last few years. They might have gotten away without the exterior changes and still sold better. Just my opinion.
