This must be bypass season. I also just did mine.
This is from AIS, who posted on 9/1/08 (see below).
note that when the small vacuum diaphragm outlet is pointed to the sky, the upper valve water outlet goes to the upper heater connection on the firewall. And the lower water outlet to the lower connection. If you get it backwards, you get no heat.
