LHM symptons & check

At TB LHM the car will idle low. For me, the tell-tale sign for it is that your 'TCS OFF' light is lit. TCS is obviously not available at this mechanical 'back-up' mode.
The check is extremely simple: with the car off pull the throttle cable backwards or have someone push the accelerator. The metal lever at the side of the throttle body - clearly visible- should *not* move.
Alternatively you take the air inlet hose off -you can clean the TB at the same time then- and do the same. The throttle butterfly should not move.
I'm not familiar with the LHM behavior at higher speeds, but quite sure the car will not boost 'normally'. Other than that it's quite drivable. I would make sure there is no slack in the cable, though. Just tighten it up one or two notches. Feels more responsive at the accelerator pedal, too.
Good luck,
Jan Geert
