The Saab instructions that came with it show that you make the first hole 115mm from the top of the vent trim and 115mm behind the carpet that hides the cabin air filter. This is the "Saab recommended location".
Of course I measured pretty well but there was some hard ABS plastic protecting (I think) some ACC components so I had to put it closer to the passenger seat. So there are a couple extra tiny holes in my carpet now :(
They give you three screws and 3 "nut clips" (like those found on the exterior trim keeping it together) and a triangular plastic piece with velcro on it. The basket itself attaches to this triangle with its velcro. It rattles a little though so I might put some dampening material on the basket.
