Was heading to work yesterday, about 20 miles into a 30 mile drive. Turned onto a side road and as soon as I gave the car a little gas, it felt like something just gave out. The engine shut off and I coasted to the side of the road. It would crank, but wouldn't stay cranked unless I rev'd it up a little in neutral, then dropped it into drive. Made it to a driveway about 100 yards away and called the flatbed.
Tried cranking it in the yard this AM and it cranked and ran fine for about 2 seconds, then started the rough idle and shut off. Used CarMD and pulled the codes P0300 and P1300. CarMD states to replace Ignition Control Module. Searched the posts here and found that the most likely culprit is the DIC.
Anyone else seen this or could provide any advice before I take her to the shop? Thanks in advance.
BTW--I posted here a few month back about my CEL and Tranny lights coming on about once a month and the car going into LHM. Al, at S&S Auto in Warrenton, VA went through everything and couldn't find anything wrong with it. So he cleaned all the electrical connections and that seemed to do the trick. Haven't had the CEL or tranny light on since. Highly recommend S&S Auto. Great service at a fair price.
