Thanks to the 26 folks who responded!

Here are the results:

Topic: Experiences resolving ABS failure symptoms (brake warning lights, audible alarm, sometimes accompanied by speedo failure)

26 Responses (representing 29 instances)

This isn't scientific, but it's interesting. Of those instances reported,

24% Diagnosed with Tech2 - problem was controller module
14% Diagnosed with Tech2 - problem was wheel sensors
10% Diagnosed with Tech2 - problem was the pump or other
21% No Diagnosis - repaired or replaced controller - problem solved
7% No Diagnosis - repaired or replaced controller - problem not solved
24% Never experienced any of these symptoms

Among instances where ABS failure symptoms were experienced,

61% of time it was the controller that was the problem
41% of time it was not the controller that was the problem

Of those instances diagnosed with Tech2,

50% Showed the controller to have failed
50% Showed other ABS components to have failed

Of those who had the controller rebuilt without having been diagnosed,

75% of the time the rebuild resolved the problem
25% of the time, the symptoms were not resolved by the rebuild

Some responders provided additional information and detail. If interested, read their responses in the thread linked below.

Of course, the more people who participate, the more reliable the informaiton becomes. If you have not participated, go to the link and post your response according to the instructions (if you've never had these symptoms you can respond with "F"). I will check for new responses periodically and update the results.
