NOISY IDLER PULLEYS Posted by saabsince 93b [Email] (#972) [Profile/Gallery] (more from saabsince 93b) on Fri, 19 Dec 2008 07:01:22 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
My wife was complaining that the 95 Aero [2001] was making bad noises on start up that got better when the car warmed up. It did not seem to be the valves, and I could not replicate the noise when I drove the car.
I went out and started it on Monday this week on a cool morning and it was REALLY noisy. I traced it to the center pulley. I brought it to my terrific independent Walter Wong at the Right Solution to replace the pulleys and idler. Walter wanted to just do the one pulley. I told him while he was in there to do both idlers and the tensioner, and of course the belt. I get it back today so we will see how it worked.
What has been the experience here on this area? I just did not want to be doing it again soon and felt maybe I can get another 50,000 miles out of this thing.
