Your choices......... Posted by Herb Hirsch [Email] (#114) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Herb Hirsch) on Wed, 31 Dec 2008 08:01:03 In Reply to: snow chains for 2008 Aero, kenz, Wed, 31 Dec 2008 07:05:04 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Your best choice is a good set of snow tires. I have a 2007 9-5 Aero; the 17" wheels and tires are ill-suited for any kind of snow. I use Michelin Alpine PA2's.
I'm not a fan of chains. They're only useful at low speeds in heavy snow. They're actually dangerous at higher speeds on dry pavement due to poor traction and heat, and they're very slippery on wet clear roads.
If you're traveling to an area with snow-covered roads, a good set of snow tires will probably work best.
Hopefully, others will weigh in with their experiences and opinions.
