"Compare the cpo prices"... Posted by Mike Lynch [Email] (#81) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Mike Lynch) on Tue, 24 Feb 2009 12:38:30 In Reply to: Re: Yeah, but ..., KevinM, Mon, 23 Feb 2009 17:49:54 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
That's always been one of my Saab talking points, that when you compare used prices to actual selling prices, as opposed to comparing used prices to the original MSRP, that Saabs actually depreciate less than other competitive brands.
The other side of that pancake is that BMW's and Benz's depreciate 40-60% in the first 3 years too, but somehow the same depreciation in a Saab makes the resale poor. Again part of the problem is measuring the resale against original MSRP instead of actual transaction prices that are the net of big rebates and incentives as with Saab.
You're speculating, but I've got 36 years experience in the auto sales industry. That doesn't mean I'm right, but I'm not thinking of reasons, I'm using my experience, with a good dose of bias too...
Have you seen the incredible deals being offered on CPO BMW's? Super low prices and super low rates.
