I would have expected closer to $200 Posted by MI-Roger [Email] (#882) [Profile/Gallery] (more from MI-Roger) on Mon, 23 Mar 2009 10:45:42 In Reply to: pcv#6--dealer estimate, 9-5x2, Mon, 23 Mar 2009 10:09:11 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
The kit is around $50 but does not inlcude all hoses. Assuming they are planning to replace all the hoses in the PCV system, the total parts cost would be around $100. Add a generous one hour of labor, and you would be somewhere around $200.
I have done this job myself, laying on my back in the driveway and stretched over the fender with the car on ramps.
Did their estimate detail additional parts they would be replacing also> Or addiitonal system/engine checks? Maybe they are using full suggested retail price for the parts. Maybe their labor rates are higher than I imagine.
