Toyota fluid...? Not for you........... Posted by MI-Roger [Email] (#882) [Profile/Gallery] (more from MI-Roger) on Sun, 21 Jun 2009 16:53:15 In Reply to: toyota fluid...?, LUKE, Sun, 21 Jun 2009 13:53:00 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
The early 9-5's used Dexron-III fluid in their 4-speed automatic transmission. Beginning with the 6-speed auto box in 2002, the fluid changed to a Mobil 3309(?) fluid. This fluid is identical to the Toyota Type-4 fluid, and the Toyota fluid is much less expensive than the Saab or Mobil brand equivalents.
Your 2001 will require Dexron-VI fluid which has superceded the old Dexron-III and is fully backwards compatible. Look for Dexron-VI in local auto parts stores.
