NAV audio and getting it installed Posted by Herb Hirsch [Email] (#114) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Herb Hirsch) on Tue, 7 Jul 2009 07:43:24 In Reply to: Does it work with the NAV audio? >>, elGT, Tue, 7 Jul 2009 06:36:30 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
1. Bluetooth will work with Saab's that have a NAV system. Installation instructions for the TEL1 adapter specifically cover that. The connector at the end of the TEL1 adapter cable is THE interface between the audio system and the bluetooth kit.
2. Some, dealers contract locally for installation, and they'll charge you a few hundred dollars for one hours work. Using a dealer is a very expensive way to add bluetooth to your car.
For installation, shop around for an automotive sound shop that has done this on a Saab 9-5 with NAV. Get a quote from your local dealer as a frame of reference.
Saab uses the Motorola IHF-1000 bluetooth kit. This what I have in my 2007 9-5; results have been excellent.
