Extended warranties may pay for themselves when all the work is done by a dealership when they charge $100+ an hour, and their answer to everything is to REPLACE it. In my opinion, most of the things that go wrong with the 9-5 are easy to DIY, or at least have a Saab indy help you out to save a ton of money. I'm not trying to rip on anyone for not being able to DIY; I am lucky enough to have a father who has accumulated more than enough tools and I have the time and garage to tinker with stuff on my own. But for an example, the SID your dealer replaced at a supposed valve of $450+ can be removed and sent out to be repaired to 100% for $75 with a lifetime warranty. I feel like a lot of dealerships, especially GM Saab dealerships (with the Chevy, Caddy, Hummer stuff built in) are really incompetent when it comes to Saabs. You got one that likes to just replace things rather than diagnose them (not a problem for you) judging from all four engine mounts being replaced before 35k miles. There is no way on Earth they all needed to be done.
