turbo banjo bolt washers with rubber

Replacing G17 on daughter's car (PITA), and found one washer with an integral rubber inner seal in my bucket under the car catching leaking coolant.
[side note, I would have drained the coolant at the radiator drain plug first, but its tabs were broken off by previous owner/mechanic. So I left it in place while I ordered a new one (received today), and let coolant drain from turbo lines. so when you're getting ready for turbo removal, check your drain plug]
I guessed that since there was only one different washer (rest copper), it must have been where the turbo water line bolted to the engine. I found a second washer, so since I have two, the only two distinct connections I unbolted would be the two water lines AT the turbo. Does this sound right?
the eEuroparts isn't completely accurate indicating parts.
I already bolted to the turbo the long water line from the upper block (which end I did not unbolt), using two copper washers. That connection (at the back of the turbo) was a real PITA, I'd hate to redo it.
Searching the archives, I see SWEDECAR's preference to just use copper everywhere. That's pretty solid advice, any other comments?
thanks
Ed
