Drain the ATF every other oil change--every 10K. You'll pull out a gallon, add a gallon, and will have generally clean fluid all the time. If you do this, though, start with a 3X or 4X drain-and-fill process to get all clean fluid in the system. My indy suggested this to me for my daughter's 9K and it seems to work well.
