It's a time-consuming, but easy and very rewarding repair. Everyone should inspect their wires for strain every once in a while. It's no fun to have a trunk full of stuff to find out the actuator wire broke and you need to now burrow through your back seat and all the "junk in your trunk" to get to the emergency release cable. That is if you have a later model without the lock cylinder outside. Fun stuff.
