First I make sure I have the proper amount in the tranny. I never have had any fluid loss during the 135k miles I have on the car. Then I drain out the tranny until it stops and measure what came out. I just put in the same amount with the new fluid. I then check again just to make sure all is good in case I spilled some fluid while measuring or removing.
