Hello gang,
Two questions both of concern, first the fuel pump:
I had my pump replaced at a local shop. I sourced the part from Goldwing and my friend who works at the shop put it in. Everything is fine except that after I filled up the tank my gauge reads a 1/6th lower than F. I read here that you can get the pump calibrated via Tech2. Q: Do I need to pull in with a full tank and they will reset the needle when I get there? Do they move sensor boundaries? If they adjust the top range will I run out of gas when I get to 1/6th full? Not sure how the calibration works.
Second, for a while now (it may be happening for as long as I've observed slightly lower MPG, a month or so now) I have this particular noise on hard acceleration. I am passing on the highway, I step on it to overtake someone, the boost goes into red and I get what I can best describe as a metallic/hissing type noise. It's loud and I'm fairly certain this was not the case before as I've had the car for 60K miles (from 60K to 120K now)... more of a metallic rattle, but not a loose clunk, it doesn't feel mechanical... more of a metallic hissing noise and I would say it only happens during hard boost..fast merge, fast passing....I know I'm being vague but you guys are just that good... :)
