Mine was nasty at 33k Posted by B Millar [Email] (#1109) [Profile/Gallery] (more from B Millar) on Tue, 20 Oct 2009 19:20:24 In Reply to: Re: Should be 40-50k flush recommendation, SWEDECAR [Profile/Gallery] , Tue, 20 Oct 2009 09:59:59 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
When I bought my '04 Aero I was getting some nasty transmission slips between 3rd and 4th. The fluid was kind of brown so one of the first things I did to the car was buy a case a Toyota T-IV ATF and have my independent mechanic flush it. After another 10k miles it's still nice and pink, and the slipping hasn't come back. Knocks on wood... I wish Saab used a slightly more substantial 5-spd auto for the 9-5. I feel like the torque is a little much for it and I just noticed this weekend how close the pre-cat comes to the transmission housing, with no hint of a heat-shield. Related? Maybe not... just an observation. Still kicking myself for settling for an automatic. I really liked the V6 paired to the 4-spd auto and thought the 4-cyl would be the same. Nope.
