no start condition- 2002 v6 Posted by adl6009 [Email] (#2526) [Profile/Gallery] (more from adl6009) on Thu, 24 Dec 2009 12:40:41 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I should have known. Yesterday it was hard to start when cold, today it won't start at all. This being christmas eve I probably won't get to look at it until saturday. I was just in the process of finishing the 60k service, I changed the fuel filter last week, I am going to get the plugs in this week, I am in discussions with the dealer for the timing belt (thats another story I'll tell you about when they are done trying to screw me with the Saab is closing excuse). I changed the battery 2 years ago. I also charged the battery and still no start. The engine sounds like it wants to start, but never does. Yesterday it took 3 tries, with long crank times before it started, then started fine the rest of the day. The DI's have been replaced maybe 10k miles ago. I keep an eye on the mpg's and it may have dipped a bit (2 or 3 mpg) with the last tankful.
Any suggestions on what to check would be welcome. Where is the cps and how do I check it? (Although it doesn't seem like the typical symptoms I might as well check it.) Maybe I'll pick up a code reader, could anyone suggest a good economical model?
Thanks.
2002 9-5 arc 59k miles- I am on Long Island and we had some cold weather, down to 20 F overnight, and a deep snowstorm this past week.
