I had been searching around for the past few weeks trying to find an answer about my upper transmission mount for my 2002 9-5 Aero. It turns out that there was a different mount, which I have, that actually has a 6th bolt. There are the 4 bolts that go to the engine bay, the one that comes up the middle, and then there is another one that connects to the bottom metal plate of the mount to the engine. It turns out that this 6th bolt was not necessary so Saab changed it. They now just have the mount as found on Eeruoparts. I was told by Eeuro that there is no difference and the 6th bolt is not needed. If you want a picture of the old, let me know.
I do now have another problem. When puting back together the RH Engine Mount, i encountered a problem with one of the four bolts that connect the arm to the engine. There are two bolts on the bottom and two bolts on the top. When connecting the inside (driver side) top bolt, I kept tightening it but it never got tighter. I reached down and on the underneath side I was feeling around and pulled up a piece of metal that turns out was part of where the bolt screws in. As a result, the bolt sits in there, but not tight as half of the threads are missing. My question is whether the mount can be supported by only the three remaining bolts? If not, what is that part that needs to be replaced or is it part of the engine block that can't be replaced? Any information is greatly appreciated. Somehow I have turned one of the easiest jobs to perform on a Saab into an unfortunate adventure.
