If you've still got useable tread on the insides of the rears, you can rotate them left to right and right to left.
You have to have a shop "flip" the tires on the wheels, though. This way, your right rear runs in the same rotation on the left side and v-v. The insides become the outsides, and all is well. Basically, the shop dismounts the tire from the wheel, and immediately puts it back on with the old outside becoming the new inside. No need to change wheels (unless you're running directional wheels...).
I used to do this with my Classic 900, until I worked out a front alignment that didn't wear the outside edges of the tread so much.
