I tried the Powerflex urethane trailing arm bushings for a while on my 1999 SE V-6. They are quite simple to install by hand as there is no pressing-in required. Just push 1/2 split pieces in from either side over central steel sleeve. MUCH easier that pressing in new OEM bushings. You'll find getting the old ones out a trial depending on if you have access to a press and various spacers. I chiseled and hacked my old ones out by hand... took about an hour each with some cursing!
The Powerflex did add a bit of extra tracking control BUT after a few seasons with our rough roads, I was ready for a better ride experience over sharp bumps. THERE IS NO difference in ride quality on smooth roads or gradual dips and bumps. But over pavement joints and sharp bumps, the urethanes have increased harshness FOR SURE. Recommended only if you have mostly decent roads. Once I gave up on the Powerflexes and went to a fresh pair of OEM bushings, I was much happier/comfortable. Frankly, the control seemed as good with OEM too. I think new bushings are more important tha what type as far as handling is concerned.
Good luck,
Reg
