Black exterior adds an increase in temperature, as compared to lighter colors, as does black interior. Some estimates place this temperature difference as high as 20-30 degrees F (about 11-15 degrees C). However, this is in Arizona, where temperatures of 110F+ (43.3C+) are common. I used to get in my car and not be able to touch anything for a while. Unfortunately, I didn't have air conditioning, so I had to drive with open windows until the air through the windows cooled things off. This takes a long time, and makes it hard to drive.
Now that I am on the east coast, I see a lot of people with black cars, so it must not be too bad in the summer.
