I had the exact same experience as you. I bought an 2008 9-5 wagon from an out of state Saab dealer in November of 2008. The in service date was in April of 2008, I did know about this when I bought it, only because I asked about the origin of the car (the ad said something about being a company car) the dealer got it from a GM dealer auction. The car was considered new by the Department of Motor Vehicles when I registered it, since it was never registered to anyone. It was some sort of GM company car and it had 98 miles on it. On the certificate of Origin it showed that GM corporate tranfsferred it to another GM division (I forget which one) and that started the clock on the warranty. I had the 1 year service done after only having it 5 months and the two year one year later. The price was right so I took a chance losing the 7 months on the warranty.
