I did think about that backing plate and need to check. figured tonight raise each wheel, spin and try to locate noise. you are referring to the backing plate behind the rotor, correct? it's slightly flexible and I could have flexed it some messing around in there.
the pads do visually look very flat correctly against the rotors but even from just the initial braking tests, I can see little more wear/coloration on the new discs toward the outer portion than the inner. seems like I recall this from my prior front rotor/pad replacement years ago. not really at an "angle" but seems more firm contact at say the outer half of the pad surface than the inner half. normal?
I will raise each wheel tonight, spin, recheck all the springs. I cleaned the calipers and mounts greatly so everything should have fit very nicely back and seemed to.
