2002 95 linear. been a saab owner for six years and the crank position sensor was my worst experience with the car. have ten years experience in auto repair but had problems diagnosing cps because i was not priveliged to know about saab.net when it was happening.car was stalling daily and then was okay for weeks. had only 60 000 miles then.stalled on highways, city streets, and up north with my pregnant wife.
CHANGE the part. its cheap,you need to be handy with tools if diy because of its location. located right under the exhaust manifold,with all that heat, it will eventually go. labor time is about 1.5 to two hours.
The rest of my saab journey has been quite enjoyable.The only bad part is that it will be difficult to change autobrand if i ever have to. These cars just creep into your soul,,,
