I noticed on a 99 Flywheel/flexplate there is a metal lip in the center that I bent to remove it. On a 2006 engine built in 2005 I noticd that the metal lip does no seem to exist. Also the end of the crank on a 99 engine seems thicker as when a flyweel from a 99 is placed on the back of a 2006 engine it drages which tells me that there is an spacer plate on the Flywheel of a 2006 that forces it out more. (I don't have my hands on a 2006 flexplate yet) Yep I am trying to fit a 2006 engine in a 1999. I am hoping the 2006 Flywheel will mate up with a 1999 tranny. If the holes dont match up will maybe drill new ones. Anyone have any suggestions other than replacing the crank. I don't really don't want to swap the crank on the 2006 engine with only 12K?
