The 9-3 use short belt from factory with no vibrations at all. And we have by now installed short belt in many NG900 instead of the long without any vibration problems.
I suspect it is the choice of power steering pump, pipes and rack maybe on the 9-5 that magnify the problem.
Saab has also come out with a new longer short belt from 07 and up which is 10mm longer than the one installed from late 04 and up (6PK-2425 instead of 6PK-2415). I don't know if that will help anything or if it is just to address that the 6PK-2415 can be a bear (sometimes impossible) to install all depending on if the belt was manufactured on a Monday or Friday.
Saab's Hutchinson belt brand is also a little bit skinnier than the Contitech brand.
