I found a very low mile 2.3 2006 engine (12K). All of the "compatible" engines for my 1999 were pure junk over 100K miles and way way more expensive than the 2006 engine. I felt my options were either to junk the car or go with the 06 engine. So far so go until today when I pulled the intake off to swap mine one. I ordered the new PVC kit from eeuro. Anders mentioned some different diameter PVC hoses. He is correct. WOW!!! The block is actually different on the 06 Engine. The oil collector underneath the intake is nearly twice the size of the new one in my kit. Furthermore, there is a hole in the block about the size of a small freeze plug where the plastic oil collecter fits in and drains into the crankcase. So my options are either to insert a freeze plug in the hole and use the PVC kit from eeuro and route the lines as instructed or take two smaller lines from the 06 oil collector and fit them to one larger line. As the eeuro kit has one less hose and one larger diameter one. My other thought is reuse the 06 oil collector and to plug one of the extra PVC lines and make due.
Anyone have any thoughts? I wish I could post pictures. I am leaning toward plugging the hole in the crankcase and using the eeuro PVC upgrade kit. Thanks!
