3.0L Timing Belt again? 1999 9-5 Posted by Saabs-Waddle [Email] (#794) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Saabs-Waddle) on Sat, 4 Sep 2010 14:20:20 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Doing the belt and tensioner and have found some snags...
I am trying to put on the red blocks and the crank alignment tool. Can't get everything to fall into place and have the timing marks all align. Could it be that the tensioners are so out of whack that the timing gears are a notch off? If I get cam 1&2 on mark, then 3&4 are past by one notch. Would the engine run this way?
I am considering just using the alignment tools as directed in WIS and setting the tensioners to Anders basic settings and trying it. Would this be a bad idea? Sounds textbook to me.
