Sounds like BS to me. Why would TCS apply the rear brakes? TCS is designed to limit spin of the drive wheels (i.e. the front wheels on the 9-5). Actually, your 2002 Aero has ESP rather than TCS. I'm pretty sure that ESP can apply the rear brakes. But even if it did, there's no reason that it should cause any abnormal wear or etching. I can't say whether the etching is anything you need to be worried about, but the dealer's explaination doesn't make sense. I think your dealer is either feeding you a line or is clueless.
