Replacing alarm battery did not work

About 8 months ago I wrote this web page on changing the alarm battery on the 9-5.
http://home.jtan.com/~joe/saab/alarm_rebuild.htm
I was told that using the CR17335SE battery would only work 6 months. Correct almost to the day. My local dealer said it was impossible to disable the alarm. I went to the local independent and he disabled the alarm. Works like a charm. Saabnet was right.
The only issue is the car had to be programed the beep the horn when I use the remote. This is totally useless feature on the Saab since you must be within arm's reach of the car for the remote to work.
Drive Safe,
Joe
