Hood, grille, headlight, front fender, fog light, headlight wiper. Paint and labour to replace. Bumper might be pushed back a little. Taxes on above. Came to nearly $5500. Settled for about the same and know there is no way I would have got that around here if I tried to sell it. No used parts available anywhere nearby so repair was valued with new parts.
I could have bought it back but wasn't thinking about that then. So I don't know what they call the 'salvage' value. I know a water damaged 47k km 2004 Arc went for $600 at the auction. So if I want this car back I figure I can buy it back bidding at the salvage auction way cheaper than I could have bought it up-front. Nobody wants a crashed Saab around here as there are so few on the road that need the parts. Might pick it up at the auction as a car for my new-driver son, and not worry much about cosmetic repair.
To re-register it (with registration marked as 'salvaged') would take the safety repairs then two inspections that total around $200.
