I have done about 10 9-5 suspensions and after 100K almost all of the rear shocks are done. I would replace the fronts after 125K-135K. At that time they are about 1/2 done, and the other 1/2 not all that great. These are the OEM shocks and structs. When replacing the back, I do recommend new springs, even if they are OEM and then measure the ride height. I have also put used wagon springs (Goldwing Saab) in the back of sedans and that will help ride height. A little bit stiffer ride, but handles passengers in the back much better then even new OEM springs.
If still low, then add in rear spacers / lifts to bring ride height up to spec. Then if doing the fronts and the backs and the ride heights are at spec, do a 4 wheel alignment.
