when they switched to the fuel pump like the one used in the 9-3 sport sedans, they eliminated the fuel filter. The worst part about the change is that the pump is no longer removed from the access hole under the back seat. So if the pump or level sensor ever fail, you have to drop the fuel tank to replace it :(
